A tribute to Late Lamtsala Sangtam, Purple Fusion vocalist

Lamtsala Sangtam, the vocalist of “Purple Fusion” Purple Fusion is a Folk Fusion band from Nagaland, India that delves and experiments in Naga traditional as well as other Folk music. The Band was formed officially on  28th August 2012 with an aim to promote the rich tradition and culture of Nagaland ,India in the form of fusion music. PF incorporates indigenous ethnic music with genre of the west like Blues, Jazz, Funk, Reggae and rock to create a blend of music which is different and unique from what we usually get to listen to in this modern electronic age.

Sangtam has been singing songs of gallant battles fought long ago. But out of nowhere,   she was fighting a battle of her own – against colon cancer when she was detected with cancer a couple of days before the band was set to perform at a film festival in Delhi in 2015 and they had to cancel the  show.  But that didn’t take her down; she stood tall and fought the cancer.

For which she received the Governor’s Award 2015 for “outstanding achievement and contribution in the field of Folk Fusion (Music)” during the Republic Day celebration at Kohima Raj Bhavan, and she dedicated the award to all patients fighting cancer.

Let me tell you my latest update!

So after 9 months of break from music - cos of Cancer. I did my comeback show with my band ‪#‎purplefusion at ‪#‎northeastfestival New Delhi for told i was told im free of ‪#‎cancer. Then after few days I went for my first review --- 4days later my test results came,The Doc. Said -- Dear it's a bad news, Cancer cells have come back and it has spread in your abdomen, liver and lungs --it's the last stage and can guarantee only 20% of your survival- neither do operation.

To that I was shocked with tears but 5 mins later I was like, I wanna perform more --- so worry not we are not cancelling any shows :p .

And so now I'm living by faith with best family and partner ever, believing cancer cells are dying and I'm getting healed each day, no matter what the docs. Say I know I'll live cos our good Lord is an awesome God.

By his stripes we are healed.

My goal - I wanna prove to the world that our god is alive.

Nothing can shake me down Yeh!

Sadly, she couldn’t be cured, day by day it took her down and she passed away on Wednesday night 1st June 2016 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

 According to Dazzling Dagger, he wrote on the facebook about his love for the vocalist as a tribute.

Someone said "time is perhaps our most precious commodity, and once it passes,it is lost forever". you were born a star,remained so and even died a gold star.you touched many lives in many ways esp me.the world will missed you coz you made a huge difference, I often wondered why you were loved,adored,and admired by many,but now I know the reason why "good people go only too soon, they have only a short time to leave their footprints in the sand.
if tears could build a stairway and walk memory lane,I would walk right up to heaven to fulfill my long cherish dream to meet you personally one fine day.. :-( :-( 
you were a warrior ,like many of us,you had your own battles in life but its how you fought them that exposed your character,you were a brave girl,it like whenever life threw a lemon at you,you literally made life a cup of sweet lemonade..not many people can boost of this ability but you can. you were truly a champion. you were comfortable in your own skin,you touched so many people too many times by simply being you.you were one of a kind I knew it,so did everybody who knew you..(personally,or virtual world).
your passing away has drawn deep emotional pain and anguish amongst all but I choose to celebrate you, your life and your legacy.now you have drawn the curtains and bid this wicked world goodbye never to return,now it hurts us to admit that God's ways are not our ways ,I was right about one thing " your future is great in heaven "

Thank you for fighting so hard to stay with us,thank you for being my role model,star,teacher..thank you for letting me know how to go on with hope...
though you lived a short live but god gave you a special gift of touching lives positively.
as i write this tribute today,looking at the many lives she touched and remembering all the causes she championed and contribute to..i know that she has achieved what she set out to.anything is possible .she proved that to us all.
knowing that you passed away hurts but as bible says
"sorrow may flow at night but joy comes in the morning".
we your fans and loved ones have felt the sorrow of losing you,but we are rest assured that sun rises knowing you are with god restores our joy.
finally i refused to say goodbye,but would prefer to say"till we see again"
the lord almighty will comforts your parents,families loved ones and fans they will smile again knowing you have fought the battle and have gone.. 
your die hard fans.

According to Zangzang Erangbe Zeliang, she said

Lamtsala (purple fusion) vocalist a close sister to me with amazing personality and a talented person just passed away few minutes ago from this beautiful world . its a great lost to lose someone who is well known in our state . As a sign of respect and love I do request all the youth and Artist (small or big) to pay a visit.

Lastly may her soul rest in peace .
