Hey, hello, welcome to my blog dear reader, today I bring you a very young and exciting band from Dimapur; well they consider themselves as Divas Unleashed. If you know the band personally, you won’t mind to hear that name because of the way they dress up and perform on stage, creating Goosebumps and movements of your body dance with the rhythm. Fashionista is the right word I should use for these ladies.Lets chit chat with them and know more about them..
Hello ladies, please enlighten us with your band.
The Divas Unleashed is a band of four girls: Aleah, Chipen, Sang and Amber. We perform on genres like rap,soul,hip-hop but we are very experimental because we love music as a whole. We have composed two originals that are yet to be recorded and few covers. We were honoured to perform them on MTF live JBC and on the event for cause during the Nepal Concert. Having been received with many positive responses from the people, it has pushed us further to release an original of our own soon. We make sure that we add a lot of our creative inputs on our covers that take the song into a whole new level.
Please brief us about the shows/concerts you have been.
We have performed in the events like Hornbill Bamboo carnival, International Loin loom festival, Morung Festival to name some few and also in various private events around the state.
Since young age, we were always attached to good music and we loved coming together and perform. Artists like Rita Ora,Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and many others inspired us through their music.
Are you ladies from the same place? How do you manage your time for practice?
Yes we all reside in Dimapur. With our love for music we take our time off schedules for practice as it is our first priority. Before our performances we would always prep ourselves for the stage. Our fun mode is always on both on the backstage and on the stage as well and through that we are able to connect to the crowd as we start the show. We reminisce and treasure every single gig we have done so far. We love to talk about them and cherish every page as a team.
What you see yourself in five years?
By the grace of God, in 5 years we want to see ourselves doing what we love the most that is, making music on and on and inspire people through our music.
We do not have plans for tours now but hopefully soon and whenever we come together we jam, share ideas and try to work on new covers.
Are you best friends??? Just band mates?
We are so much more than band mates and best friends but we are biological sisters. We are like the best of friends on and off stage. With our similar passion and love for music it brought us together to begin a thrilling journey as one. The best compliment we received was “The Divas can really bring live to the stage" #Humbled
What are your struggles and problem you faced as a musician?
Every team has its own struggle. Our problem as a band is that we need people to sponsor us. With the right push, we will be able to give out so much more than we do. We need a guide to lead us in enhancing our skills and talents to a greater level. We have the passion but it is just that the right mentor is missing in the team.
