Top 5 things to see in Northeast when you visit. 

Northeast is where the seven sisters meet, i.e Manipur, Assam, Arunachal, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya and Sikkim was recently added to Northeast India.

If you love travelling and trekking, Northeast would be a suitable place for you, the cool weather in the summer and the cold winter would make you feel adventurous when you travel to Northeast through the patchy roads and mountains.  1) Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia
Around 100km from Shillong there is a magical paradise – Mawlynnong – a small village which won the status of being the cleanest village , not just in India, but in Asia

2) Majuli, Assam - World's Largest Riverine Island-
Mājuli or Majoli is a large river island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam, India. 
The island had a total area of 1,250 square kilometres (483 sq mi), but having lost significantly to erosion it had an area of only 352 square kilometres (136 sq mi) in 2014.Majuli has shrunk as the river surrounding it has grown.

 3)  Mawsynram and Cherrapunjee known as the wettest place on Earth.
Cherrapunjee is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. The name "cherrapunji" which means 'land of oranges' was first used by tourists from other parts of India. Cherrapunji still holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year: it received 9,300 mm (366 in) in July 1861 and 26,461 mm (1,041.75 in) between 1 August 1860 and 31 July 1861.

Below Cherrapunjee, a  10 Kilometres away is  Mawsynram which is now regarded as the highest rainfall received in the earth. it is reportedly the wettest place on Earth, with an average annual rainfall of 11,872 millimetres (467.4 in) but that claim is disputed by Lloró, Colombia, which reported an average yearly rainfall of 12,717 millimetres (500.7 in) between 1952 and 1989 and López de Micay, also in Colombia, which reported 12,892 mm (507.6 in) per year between 1960 and 2012.According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Mawsynram received 26,000 millimetres (1,000 in) of rainfall in 1985.

 4)  The birth place of the Game  “Polo”, Manipur
The modern game of polo is derived from Manipur, India, where the game was known as 'Sagol Kangjei', 'Kanjai-bazee', or 'Pulu'. It was the anglicised form of the last, referring to the wooden ball that was used, which was adopted by the sport in its slow spread to the west. The first polo club was established in the town of Silchar in Assam, India, in 1833.

5) Home to One Horned Rhinoceros
The only place you will find one horned Rhinoceros in the world. The huge rhinoceros is found in the Terai at the foot of the Himalayas, from Bhutan to Nepal. It is more common in the eastern portion of the Terai than the west, and is most abundant in Assam.
